cozy.

it seems strange to post this today since we've been enjoying absolutely beautiful, indian summer style, sunshine the last couple of days but it was pretty chilly earlier this week and the weather spurred me on to finish some cozy projects for my girls.

nani iro baby blanket
first up, possibly the easiest baby blanket ever - gorgeous nani iro double gauze on one side and super fuzzy, organic hemp/cotton fleece on the other. it's ridiculously cuddly, incredibly soft and it has solved my dilemma of how i was ever going to cut into that beautiful gauzey fabric (i didn't. just used the whole meter and it's the perfect size for my second winter baby). kinda wish i had a king sized version for our bed...

knit blanket
and the second easiest blanket ever - a huge piece of cotton knit that i found at rathdowne remnants recently for $6 and finished the edges in a thick binding i made from various cotton scraps in pinks and yellows. this one is for maesey; it's nice and big so should get her through to a single bed. i figure she can use it layered in winter (if she ever learns to keep her covers on) and it should be perfect for summer nights on it's own.
